{"id":822,"date":"2018-06-20T06:31:25","date_gmt":"2018-06-20T06:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aeropb.com\/?p=822"},"modified":"2018-06-20T06:31:25","modified_gmt":"2018-06-20T06:31:25","slug":"bell-and-safran-collaborate-on-air-taxi-concept","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aeropb.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/20\/bell-and-safran-collaborate-on-air-taxi-concept\/","title":{"rendered":"Bell and Safran Collaborate on Air-Taxi Concept"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"field-subtitle\">\n<p>Futuristic VTOL will be powered by hybrid electric power plant.<\/p>\n<p>At the Future of Transportation World Conference, which takes place this week in K\u00f6ln-Messe, Germany, Bell Helicopter and Safran announced they are collaborating on a VTOL aircraft for the air-taxi market.<\/p>\n<p>The futuristic-looking VTOL concept will be designed, developed and produced by Bell, while the hybrid electric power system will be developed by Safran. \u201cThanks to the long and sustained technology-development strategy conducted within the Safran group, we can now offer Bell our hybrid electric power solutions for their next generation products that result in improved performance giving more value to our customers,\u201d said Safran\u2019s senior executive vice president of R&amp;T and innovation, St\u00e9phane Cueille.<\/p>\n<p>What that power plant might look like remains to be seen. While a conceptual cabin mock up has already been designed by Bell, it does not show whether the VTOL will be elevated by a traditional helicopter rotor or some other source of lift.
